Dustborn Game is trying to do too many things at once, which makes it look like a rough draft of all the ideas the team had for the game. It’s full of features, characters, and themes that sometimes feel forced and unfinished, like they were just an idea someone wantd to add, even if the game didn’t have the time or resources to do so carefully.
Dustborn Game Overview
But as their tour bus fills up, it becomes clear that not every character will have the same chance to grow as others.Around the middle of Dustborn Game, I realised that not all personalities Dustborn Crack were the same. The main character of our story, Pax, meets almost a dozen people who join her and her friends on their cross-country road trip. At the beginning, you can choose which direction each of these characters will take based on your choices. By the end of Dustborn, Theo, the leader of this group of mutant smugglers making their way across America, may see Pax and her crew as equals, workers, or even as his Dustborn children.
Key Features
- The things that happen in your life aren’t just the result of one big decision. They’re the sum of many smaller ones.
- The main character, Pax, says, “It was never a single choice” when she thinks back on how her life has changed over the course of the 15-hour game.
- Every decision added up, every step of the way.
- Like I wasn’t able to figure it out.
- Dustborn was made by Red Thread Games and is released by Spotlight by Quantic Dream.
- You can change things more than just through dialogue branches; there’s also good combat, rhythm sections, and quicktime events.
- All of these things combine to make Dustborn a pretty unique visual novel, giving you more power and ways to interact with the story.
- Its strangely long running time, the sheer number of topics and issues it wants to cover, and the growing number of interesting LGBTQ+ characters make it almost live up to its promise as a political epic road trip story about people with superpowers.
- But a lot of its potential effect is lost because of how badly it does everything, laying it out in ways that make you feel like it’s talking down to you.
- Since Dustborn has a lot to say and wants to be ambitious, I can’t say anything bad about that.
